Tu B’Shevat appea …

By June 7, 2019 No Comments

Tu B’Shevat appears in the Mishna as the new year of planting and sowing ( Roshashana of trees). We celebrate it by eating a feast of fruits( specially the seven species of the land of Israel). Why do we do this when we are in the middle of winter? Because it’s at this time that the trees look dry and dead, but in reality really deep inside they are preparing to bring forth more seeds. This is to remind us that even in our hardest moments, when we look dry and dead, deep within us something new and powerful is being nurtured. This is why we should never give up on ourselves and we should know that just as the tree is able to become green, lush, beautiful and bring new fruit so can we.
