Today we count the 41st …

By June 7, 2019 No Comments

Today we count the 41st day of the Omer with “Yesod shebe Yesod” (foundation within foundation).
When G-d created man, He said: “Let us make man,” who is He referring to in this statement? He didn’t say “Let Me create man, He said let us create man.”
G-d is referring to man, to us! When G-d created Adam, the first man, he intended for humanity to be a partner in His creation. He didn’t just create a world and left it to fend for itself, in reality, G-d recreates the world at every instance. If He would cease to utter the creation of the world, we would disappear.
Our job in our terrestrial lifetime is to keep building the world. Every word of Torah and every Mitzvah (act of kindness) we do is like a stone that is being put in the building of the world. The more Torah observance and acts of love and kindness, the stronger the foundation that sustains the world.
So, today ask yourself: “what am I contributing to the building of G-d’s home down here?”
Do something to make the world a little more holy and a little more peaceful. Take advantage of every opportunity given to you. It is a privilege that we have to be part of this incredible endeavor called life.
Begin tonight by lighting Shabbat candles if you are a woman and making Kiddush and having a wonderful Shabbat meal.
