Today we count the 37th day of the Omer with “Gevurah shebe Yesod” (Discipline within Foundation). Also today we honor and remember the brave men and women who have served and given their lives for this wonderful country, The United States of America and the safety and freedom of its people.
To be able to serve a country in such a way, a person needs to access his discipline and use it for a higher truth. The values and foundation of this special country are freedom for all people.
In this country people can live according to their beliefs. We should never take this freedom for granted, it is a great blessing and privileged to be able to live in a place in which a Jew can walk proudly and freely down the street with his Kippa on his head and people of any belief can also walk freely and in peace. A place in which there are many houses of worship, and school systems that work according to a person’s convictions.
We should never forget how blessed we are.
May the brave men and women that work tirelessly to sustain the ideals of America alive be blessed with protection from G-d, a long and healthy life.
For those who have died way too young defending the ground in which we stand, may their memory be for blessing.
