Today we count the 32nd …

Today we count the 32nd day of the Omer with”Netzach shebe Hod” (Endurance within Humility).
Today I had the great pleasure to visit my granddaughter’s school for grandparents day. Twice a year they invite the grandparents of the children to attend a nice breakfast and listen to the principle give a Torah talk. Today she spoke about the importance of the relationship between grandparents and their grandchildren and what studies have shown of how this relationship is so beneficial to the healthy development of children. One of the things she focused on was on the importance of talking about G-d. Children are born with an innate connection to G-d and they understand this concept much better than us. Sadly, as life comes, they tend to loose the feeling of that connection. Nevertheless, this bond between us and G-d will always remain within us as long as we live and the only thing we need to do is clean the dust that covers it.
If you ask children before their teenage years about G-d, you will be surprised to hear how comfortable they are with the topic. Go to a teenager and up and you’ll find it more conflicting.
The combination of these two sefiras of endurance and humility show that the narrative must always be present. It takes humility of heart to acknowledge the Creator of all life and the material world as well.
Today we live in a world in which people need proof to everything. If you can’t see it, you can’t believe it.
Certainty is a faith killer, on the other hand, if we struggle with our relationship with G-d that is a good sign. The questioning, the learning, the discussions will bring us eventually to that long waited relationship with our Father in Heaven.
We don’t need to know and understand everything, it’s ok!!! When we always have an empty space within us, the yearning to connect will always be there.
Ask yourself: “How do I feel about my relationship with G-d?”, “Is talking about Him something easy for me?”
When looking at the world today, acknowledge the beautiful world H”S created for you and tell someone about it.
