Today we count the 10th day of the Omer with “Tiferet shebe Gevurah” (harmony within Discipline).
Tiferet is half Chesed (love and kindness) and half Gevurah( discipline/restraint), which gives us a perfect blend of balance and harmony in life. Our forefathers: Abraham, Yitzchak, and Yaacov represent Chesed, Gevurah, and Tiferet. Yaakov represents Tiferet, this is why he was the only one of the three who merited twelve righteous sons, while the other two had one good son and one evil son, this is so because one needs both in life. Too much love or too much strictness can be detrimental to a person’s well being.
The word Heaven “Shamayim” is a combination of fire and water (aish and maim). What appears to be a contradiction in reality with the correct dose of perfect balance harmony can be created.
Look at what is conflicting in your life and try to find the hidden gift within it. Look at it as an opportunity for growth and refinement. The discipline should be used within us and not toward others. Others, one must judge favorably, always looking at the good within them.
When we look within ourselves and we work on the aspects of our personality, natural tendencies, etc.. we will get to the root of our conflicts and will be able to find harmony on what would seem to be a chaotic situation.
