Today is Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remebrance day) and it’s no coincidence that it falls on the 12th day of the Omer “Hod Shebe Gevurah” ( Humility in Discipline).
Intolerance and anger are ugly. Bravery and courage are beautiful.
It is always impossible to understand tragedies like the holocaust. Throughout history we have seen how tremendous wicked people are successful in inflicting others.
Hod Shebe Gevurah addresses this. It shows that when something good is happening to a wicked person it is ultimately a punishment for them and leads to their eternal downfall as we have seen with Nevuchadnezzer who destroyed the first Temple, Haman in Persia, Stalin, Hitler and many others.
The Talmud says that a person’s evil urge gets stronger every day. It would be impossible to overcome temptation without G-d’s help.
Give thanks to H”S for every transgression you have been able to avoid, and for giving you strength to overcome your negative urges.
