By June 7, 2019 No Comments

Today is Lag Ba’Omer, the 33rd day of the Omer. “Hod ShebeHod” “Humility in Humility”. Today we also celebrate the Yurtzeid(passing anniversary) of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yohai, also known as Rashbi. The Rashbi wrote the Zohar (Kaballah) hiding in a cave for thirteen years from the Romans, who had destroyed our Holy Temple. He passed away on the 18th of Iyar-33rd day of The Omer and asked his disciples not to cry for him because his passing was a day for celebration because he had been able to come to this world and complete the purpose for which he was created. Today Jews all over the world celebrate by lighting bon fires to commemorate the immense light that Rashbi introduced to the world via his mystical teachings. Children play with with imitation bows and arrows in open fields, we celebrate with life music and Jewish unity celebrating and appreciating everyone’s individual contribution and gift to the world. Which is the utmost humility in humility.
