Today I went to see a video called “Turning Tears into Triumph” made by friends, family, Rabbis, people that belong to the Sassoon’s community and Gayle Sassoon herself.
For those of you who don’t know ,Gayle Sassoon lost seven of her eight children a year ago in a horrific fire at her home on Shabbat. Gayle and her daughter Tzipora survived the fire and her husband Rabbi Gabriel Sassoon too because he was out of town. She was left severely burned and it is a miracle she is alive.
Although we can never explain such a tragedy or even comprehend it, the effect that this tragedy has generated is nothing you could ever imagine. Thousands of people have changed the way they live their lives for the better becoming better parents, sons, daughters, people. Thousands and thousands of Mitzvahs has been made because of it and Mrs. Sassoon has been the pillar of all this. She is a powerhouse who has chosen to transform darkness into light influencing those near and far in incredible ways. Today they are rebuilding the house that was burned down with those holy souls and her dream is to make a place where anyone can come and learn Torah and connect to G-d Who has been her strength throughout this hardship.
For her, life is a journey and every person has his own, the important thing is to ask “What is G-d asking of me now, what does He need me for?”
If you want to be a part of this incredible opportunity to bring Sasson (happiness) and Simcha (Joy) to others and transform darkness into light you can help by giving to Sasson 7 Project sassoonseven.org
