Today I heard a beautiful vort given by Myriam Swerdlov in which she said that the Tzemak Tzedek, third Lubavitcher Rebbe, explained that the Land of Israel is compared to a “Eretz Hefetz” a precious land of things that are hidden underneath like gold, precious stones, copper, etc… and all you have to do is dig so you can find it. In Malachi it says that a person is also a “Eretz Hefetz,” we all have hidden treasures we just need to dig deep inside ourselves to find them.
