This song known as “Shirat HaYam” -Song at the Sea- (Exodus 15), goes on to describe the great miracles that G-d performed for the Jewish people at the time of the Exodus.
It’s forty four verses express the gist of our relationship with G-d and our mission in life.
This very special song was sang to praise and thank H”S for the miracles.
By singing this song, Moses first and then the people repeating after him created utmost unity amongst them and helped them acknowledge Moses as their leader. Each and every individual Jew, from the age of 80 to the unborn infants expressed their deepest feelings and aspirations with the very same 187 words. For in Moses they had a leader in whom the soul of Israel was one.
Music is a very powerful tool, it can create feelings of love, joy, hope, strength or dangerously it can go the other way, we better be very selective in our choices of music, for they have a very big influence in our thoughts and feelings.
From this powerful song we can see how a new nation was able to submit and identify a leader, who through unity and love helped them reach their destination.
