This beautiful and wise …

By June 7, 2019 No Comments

This beautiful and wise saying we learn from the famous book authored by King Salomon, the wisest person that ever lived, the Book of Ecclesiastes (Kohelet) which some read during Sukkot.
Our sages tell us that what we accomplish on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur through tears, we can accomplish on Sukkot and Simchat Torah through joy.
The obvious question is “if you can accomplish the same thing with joy as with tears, who needs tears?” Why not just skip Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur and go straight to Sukkot?
The answer is that you can’t experience true joy if you haven’t experienced sadness. True joy is not an escape from reality, true joy is that regardless of the pain we still can feel joy when we don’t loose focus on our blessings and we don’t stop celebrating the gift of life and the mission we were entrusted.
The secret lies in how we master the rhythms of life. Life is constantly moving us, it never stays still. This holiday season teach us that it is all about cycles.
As my mentor Shimona Tzukernik says:”You can be sad but you can never be not happy.”@thekabbalahcoach
