The Baal Shem Tov, thre …

The Baal Shem Tov, three hundred years ago, used this Talmudic adage to bring a new understanding to the jewish mind. Although one dedicates all his G-d given faculties in the service of G-d, one must also give H”S a piece of one’s heart ♥️.
PASSION is the key word here. We must not do our Mitzvot by rote, like robots! One must infuse his heart with love, idealism, and enthusiasm of G-d.
When the Jewish people left Egypt, they had a slave mentality. They were completely depleted of their self worth. They were broken people. The challenge that Moses encountered was not only leading them through the desert to the promised land, it was more complicated than that. Moses challenge was to bring out the best of them and return them to their essence. As they say: “It’s easier to take the Jew out of Egypt than Egypt out of the Jew.”
The exodus from Egypt is a model for inner transformation. Mitsrayim (Egypt) means “constrictions.” Personal Exodus means moving beyond the status quo by getting rid of our limitations. In a more deeper sense, exodus is about moving beyond a self centered orbit towards a closer relationship with G-d.
This is the time of the year in which the energy is aligned to give us this extra boost and strength so this endeavor can be achieved.
