Some peace of advice on …

Some peace of advice on how to conquer our Yetzer Hara (evil inclination). In the Book “Battle Plans” by Rebbetzin Tzipora Heller and Sarah Yoheved Rigler they present Battle Plan #2 with “everything I need I have.” The best armor to protect ourselves from falling into sad moods is to use this attitude.
You achieve this attitude by shifting your focus from what you don’t have to what you do have.
No matter what you are missing in your life ( a spouse, children, health, money, love, etc…) take time to think about and be grateful for what is working in your life.
You may not be married yet, but your single status allows you many freedoms and unique avenues for your spiritual expression. Because you are not yet married, you have the time to nurture yourself and others spiritually.
You may not be in perfect health, but your Illness can be an opportunity for growth and closeness with those you love. As hard a situation can be there is always a positive way of looking at it.
Remember that the Yetzer Hara thrives on a sense of lack. The root of this “yitzra d’ervah” (lust) comes from a spiritual void a lack of connection to H”S. Once you identify the enemy, you must give it bread of Torah and the water to quench its thirst by going out and doing Mitzvahs (good deeds).
The Yetzer Hara can cripple and paralice a person, the only way out is by moving and doing. So let’s get going!
