Sometimes we give ourselves a very hard time for decisions we made that didn’t have the outcome we expected, my husband always says “the past is for historians”, it is very easy to judge a situation when it already has passed but when it is in its making we don’t have the whole story. He also says “the future is for prophets,” how many times we spend our precious time worrying about what’s going to be? On top of it if you look at your worries tell me how many times they have actually happened?
Then he says “the present is to do!” The present is what we really own and it passes in an instant for what I have just wrote already is in the past. So that flashing now use it to effect action. We live in the world of action, not in the world of what was and what if. Like the song says “it’s now or never.” Let’s use the past as a learning experience so we don’t fall into the same mistakes, let’s use the future to think about what we want to achieve and plan on how to get there. Let use the present as an opportunity to reveal G-d in everything you do.
