Today we begin week six of the counting of the Omer with the 36th day “Chesed shebe Yesod” (love and kindness within foundation).
Yesod is where Heaven touches Earth. Yesod means foundation. It is the channel through which all the higher attributes interact with the world. Yesod creates a relationship between G-d and His world, allowing each individual to change the world and make it a better place. For this reason, Yesod is also called “tzinor” (conduit), “makor” (source), or “mayan” (wellspring).
“Chesed shebe Yesod” brings the kindness that each person can create into the world, but to be able to do this a person needs to connect to his/her personal mission and purpose in his /her life. If a person has this combination of sefiras alligned he will grow himself for the sake of the world. He/she will be infused with a sense of responsibility and accountability.
No wonder this combination falls on the 36th day of the Omer which represents double Chai (18+18=36) -double life, one life is the one you owe yourself and the other is the one you owe the world.
