Reposting this beautiful quote from Rabbi Sacks @rabbisacks.
Today is a very special day apart from being Chanukah it is also Rosh Chodesh Tevet and tonight is Shabbat .
Last month we spoke about rectifying our vision and the way we see things. This month we are given the opportunity to tap into our source of inner strength. “Cosmic Anger,” the sense of this dimension is the power to overcome those forces and distractions which prevent us from actualizing our visions and dreams. Chassidut explains two types of anger; “atzvus”(depression) and “merirus” (bitterness). Depression is not a good type of anger, it dulls a person and it doesn’t allow him or her to live. Bitterness on the other hand can be very empowering, when we get upset because we are wasting our time, or haven’t accomplished what we want, this is a jump board for change and this is exactly what “Cosmic Anger ” means. Anger is not there for us to become sour people G-d forbid. When we experience this feeling we should use it to spur us into positive action and achieve our goals. The drive to achieve should not be rooted in aggressive self-assertion, rather it should spring from an inner directness that comes from wisdom. But to be able to achieve this we need to nullify ourselves and get rid from our egotistical wants and needs. This for sure will give us the inner strength we need to be able to stand tall and bright like the candles in the Menorah and shine bright.
Think about your goals and what have prevented you from achieving them. Use that feeling to spur you into action and get going.
Shabbat Shalom

By the way, what a message for 2017, May the New Secular Year bring us the strength to achieve our dreams in good health and joy.
Happy 2017
