It’s been 70 year …

It’s been 70 years since the release of Anne Frank’s diary which gives us a glimpse of the life of a young girl in the times of the Holocaust. Nevertheless, her diary and view of the world at such a hard time is a lesson to be learned. Her perseption of the goodness in the world, her kindness and deep faith in G-d and humanity is the legacy she left us.
The biggest problem the “Meraglim” (spies) had when they entered the Land of Israel to scout it before the Jewish people would go in is that they came in already with negativity in their minds. They didn’t want to see the blessing and the goodness of the place. From the beginning they were set into finding a reason of why they should stay in the desert.
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” we choose our perception of things, if we want to see the bad this is what we will see, but if we only want to see the good the bad will disappear.
Make an effort to train your eyes and thoughts to always look for the goodness in everything. If a young girl of thirteen in the middle of the most horrendous chapter of our times was able to do it, so can we.
