In Parashah “Miketz …

By June 7, 2019 No Comments

In Parashah “Miketz “(at the end), Pharaoh has a prophetic dream:”And behold from the Nile rose up seven cows, which looked good and healthy of flesh and they grazed in the pasture.”(Bereshit 41:2)
Rashi comments that their looking good is a sign of the years of plenty, for when everything looks good people will look good to one another and won’t be envious of each other. This idea is of outmost importance to having a happy life. When we want what we have and don’t have what we want we will be much more appreciative of our blessings. Sadly sometimes we fall into having what we want and this pursuit will rob us of our joy and will produce much sadness.
The more you focus on the good in your life the less it will make a difference to you what others have.
