When the world was first created,G-d’s presence rested on earth. But men’s continuous misdeeds made H”S presence retract further to the spiritual realms. This process began to be reversed by Abraham, and it was consummated by the construction of the Tabernacle.
Six days we worked for its construction and the seventh day we rested. This returned the world to its original state of completeness and holiness, the way it was during the original six days of Creation.
Similarly,by focusing on the seven days of the week to our Divine mission of making our lives into a Tabernacle and an environment where G-d can feel at home, we bring ourselves to a higher level of Divine consciousness than we possessed originally.
