The word for LOVE in Hebrew is AHAVA, the root of the word is Hav which means to give. From this word we learn that to love is to give. Take for example a new born baby, this little baby that just came into your life hasn’t given you anything, you are the one who has carried it for nine months and when it’s born you give this baby everything it needs to grow and flourish, this is why parents love their children with unconditional love.
For a relationship to be balanced both parties need to give, the more you give the more you love. Love is generated through our actions and thoughts towards the other, so yes, we do have the capacity to love in an infinite way.
