We have twelve days left to Rosh Hashana ‍♂️ ‍♀️.The last days of Elul correspond to the twelve months of the year. On each of these twelve days, that we have left, we have the ability to reflect on and amend any of our shortcomings in the corresponding month of the past year. Elul 18 corresponds to the month of Tishrei, Elul 19 corresponds to Cheshvan and so on.
How much have you been working this month in your relationship with H”S?
How much about you is an expression of your essence, and how much is added baggage? Can you distinguish between the two?
We carry so much unnecessary weight in our lives. Bad feelings, negativity, grudges, ego, etc…
Try to make an accounting of those areas that need to be cleaned, take out the clutter and extra baggage that makes you feel heavy.
Also identify the areas that reflect your essence, your true self and strengthen them.
Take advantage of the day, and the rest of the month. Infuse it with your special qualities and pursue the ultimate connection which is G-d.
Today in history we also have the birthdays of the Baal Shem Tov (1698-1760) father of the Chassidic movement and the Birthday of Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi (1745-1812) founder of Chabad. This day is called the “birthday of two luminaries.”
