Tonight is the fifth night of Chanukah!
“For a Mitzvah is a flame, and the Torah is light”(proverbs 6:23)
In your light we will see light. We experience physical light and life, joy and pleasure. True life is the life of the soul. True light is G-d’s closeness; when our deeds serve as conductors to allow G-d’s light to illuminate the world, our light be considered illumination.
The flames of a Menorah are soul lights. These flames are more than a response. They are a solution. When G-d created the world He created light, this first light is not the light that emanates from the sun, for the sun was created on the fourth day of creation and this light was created on the first day of creation. This first light G-d put away for the day of the coming of Meshiach and let’s us have a glimpse of this Infinite Light emanating from the Candles of the Hanukiah.
