Today we count the the fifth day of the Omer with “Hod Shebe Chesed” (Humility in Love and Kindness).
Sometimes you can get “locked” in love. This happens when we are unable to forgive our loved one or we can’t bend or see someone else’s point of view which doesn’t allow us to compromise.
Hod is humility and when it merges with love and kindness it gives us the ability to rise above ourselves and it allows us to forgive or give in to someone else’s needs. Most of the time it is wise to humble ourselves and give in for the sake of peace and love. This doesn’t mean we have to be door mats were everyone step on. It means that you don’t have to prove yourself to anyone. It means that you can be at peace with yourself even if you give into someone else.
Try today to forgive and reconcile with someone you have quarreled with swallowing your pride.
