Today we count the 17th day of the Omer with “Tiferet Shebe Tiferet.” (Compassion within Compassion) the most balanced of all the combinations of sefiras.
True compassion is eternal and limitless.
H”S in His infinite mercy is always giving us what we need. Who can know better if not Him?
Sometimes we receive knowing what we need and sometimes we receive what we need without knowing we need it. It also goes the other way around, sometimes we are not given what we think we need and sometimes not receiving is just what we need.
Also in our physical interactions with others we should try to emulate H”S ways. Compassion for another is achieved by having a selfless attitude, which allows us to rise above ourselves and it helps us see through the eyes and feelings of others. Ask yourself if when you act “compassionate” is it self serving? Then this is not compassion at all.
Try to always give or not give what the other one needs, not what you need.
