Today we count the 13 Day of the Omer with “Yesod She be Gevurah” (Bonding in Discipline). Today we also remember the six million Jews that were exterminated in WWII and many more of other faiths. We also remember the kind people that made a difference and put their lives in danger by saving many Jews by hiding them for years. We don’t forget, we remember.
“Yesod” means bonding, foundation, unity… this is what has kept the Jews alive since day one. Unity is the foundation of everything, it doesn’t matter if we are religious or secular, left wing or right wing, black or white, tall or short…. none of this really matter, because in essence we are all one, we are one unit and this is how H”S wants us. If one person is having a hard time, we are all having a hard time. If another person has a joyful event in their lives we all rejoice with them! This is what Rabbi Akiva meant when he said:”love another as one self.” This is the secret and the key to our survival and our eternity, Am Israel Chai!!!!
