Today we celebrate Yom …

By June 7, 2019 No Comments

Today we celebrate Yom Ha’Atzmaut, Israel Independence Day which commemorates the Israeli Declaration of Independence in 1948 giving back the rightful home to the Jews.Just a few hours before we were crying for our fallen brothers and sisters in the Land of Israel, making it the saddest day of the year and suddenly we are ushered into the happiest day of the year. From crying to feasting. Where does this strength come from? After being slaves in Egypt, being exiled more than 2000 years from our beloved homeland, inquisition, progroms, Holocaust, terrorist attacks, etc… we Jews have been through everything. “The Jews of Palestine…were dancing because they were about to realize what was one of the most remarkable and inspiring achievements in human history. Finally the Jews were returning home as sovereign citizens in their own independent state.” (Michael Oren)
Today we also count the 21st day of The Omer with “Malchut She Be Tiferet” ( Kingship in Compassion).
The Master of Mercy and Harmony uses beauty to inspire mankind and make them happy. Although the people of Israel have been able to achieve tremendous milestones in the Land of Israel, where when they came it was a barren dessert full of sand and rocks. There were no roads, no electricity, no clean water, no food. They were able to build an amazing country full of modern highways and technology. You see trees in the millions and blooming flowers. A lot of good has come from this tiny place not only for Israelis but for the whole world. Africa benefits from the invention of the irrigation system and the solar panels which gives them energy. Many people around the world have been saved by medicine that came from Israel. Even President Carter was treated with Israeli advanced medicine for his brain tumor. If your reading this post in your smart phone, this also comes from Israel. So there is much to celebrate , but we should never forget were the blessing comes from.
Thank you H”S for making all these possible. He gives to us from His immense Mercy and love, we receive from Him, but to awaken this mercy we have to constantly remind ourselves that we also need to give back.
