This week’s Parasha “Korah”, is named after Moses rebellious first cousin who is remembered for being swallowed by the earth with 250 men who followed his rebellion, their families, households and everything that belonged to them.
What Korah did was question G-d’s ways by putting Moses and Aaron in a very difficult position. His whole purpose for doing this was that he wanted to be the Kohen Gadol, for him it was not enough to be a Levy. His arrogance, greed and haughtiness at the end finished him off and all the people who followed him.
It is very strange that a Parashah would be named after such an individual, but H”S wants us to never forget what greed does.
