This week we read in Pa …

This week we read in Parashah “Yitro” the most espectacular event of all mankind, the giving of the Ten Commandments!
This event was sooo supra dimensional that those who were there heard with their eyes and saw with their ears. It was soooo intense that after they heard the first commandment directly from G-d their souls left their bodies and H”S had to resurrect them.
That day they stood as one people with one heart in complete harmony and were all elevated to the status of Tzadikim.
Before they received the commandments the Jewish people said “Naase Benishmat” we will do and then we will listen. What this means is that we cannot wait for the Torah to make perfect sense to us before we keep it. The Torah is H”S infinite wisdom and will and as finite beings that we are we can’t understand infinitude.
We should keep the Torah because this is our whole purpose of creation and this is how our Creator wants us to live.
It is true that the Ten Commandments are the moral compass of the world, but even humans could come up with some moral laws. We keep it not because of this reason but because this is G-d’s will for humanity.
When we do first then we will be able to understand.
“We don’t believe because we can understand it, we understand it because we believe it.”
