The Shabbat before Tisha B’Av is known as Shabbat Chazon “Shabbat of Vision”.
Reb Levi Yitzchok of Berditchev said that every Jew has the ability to have a vision of the rebuilding of the Third and final Beit Hamikdash.
This year Shabbat Chazon falls on the 9th of Av which is the saddest day of our history, but because the fast day falls on Shabbat it is moved to Sunday, since on Shabbat we are not supposed to mourn.
More meaningful yet it is that we are given Shabbat of Vision on Tisha B’Av, where H”S is telling us that there is purpose in our exile, that we should internalize spiritually the vision of rebuilding our Third Temple and physically we should be inspired to take action into coming closer to our vision of a world where there is peace, love for one another, no sickness, poverty and where we can all see the truth and live by it.
The Rambam says that when Tisha B’Av falls on Shabbat and the fast day is moved for Sunday, H”S is giving us a tasting of the times to come, for the day that we should be mourning the loss of our Temples we are rejoicing and feasting instead.
May we merit in our days to bring the world to its complete and perfect state with the coming of Meshiach!
Shabbat Shalom
