The Jewish response to hardship and darkness is to bring more light to the world Last Friday Rabbi Yaacov Litman Z”L and his son Nathanel Z”L were killed by a Palestinian terrorist. They where on their way to celebrate the Ofrif ( when groom is called to the Torah before his wedding) of Ariel who was getting married to Rabbi Litman’s daughter Sarah Tehiya. Instead of celebration, this family ended in mourning. But Sarah Tehiya and Ariel decided to push their wedding for nine days and make their wedding even a bigger affair than the one that was planned before.
They have decided to invite all Israel to come and celebrate with them! The Litman Family stated that they will get up from the Shiva ( seven days of mourning) and rejoice.
The invitation has been published in every Israeli News Outlet and its preceded by the saying “Do not rejoice over me, my enemy, for I have fallen but I have gotten up”(Michah 7:8).
May this couple have a life of Joy and not sorrow for they have chosen to be a light onto the nations and an inspiration of strength in times of unbearable suffering.
Mazal Tov!
