The home is a sacred place and the woman in her special ways is the one that makes it this way. With her faith, trust, and understanding she is the one that brings the connection from H”S to her family.
Making her home a place conducive to spirituality and kindness.
The three Mitzvahs of the Jewish woman: Shabbat Candles, Challah and Mikvah represent her obligation to her husband and children. The Shabbat Candles represent the peace in the home, by working on the Shalom Bayit of the home she not only is building a generation of peaceful people but also well adjusted, tolerant and respectful human beings who will bring peace to the world. Challah represents the abundance of the home. A Jewish home should have the highest standards by feeding our families with kosher foods. Everything we eat has an influence in our Neshama. Non kosher foods block the energy flow in our systems, imagine a blocked pipe. When we ingest kosher foods we make ourselves spiritually receptive.
And finally Mikvah, a ritual bath a married woman takes after having her period to be able to be cleansed from the “Tumah” created by the body releasing a potential life. By doing this, wearing modest clothing and covering her hair a Jewish woman is protecting her home from any impurity that may come into it and affect it.
The esteemed Tzadik of Jerusalem, Rabbi Aryeh Levine was once asked where was his home? And he answered “wherever my wife is, that is my home.”
Shabbat Shalom
