The first person to obs …

By June 7, 2019 No Comments

The first person to observe Shabbat was our foremother Sarah. It is written that in her home the Shabbat candles never went out. They shone brightly from week to week and her challah never became stale, it was always fresh.
How could this be possible?
Sarah understood something that most of us don’t understand. For her the Shabbat wasn’t the culmination of a week’s work. For her the Shabbat, was a way of being mentally, spiritually and physically.
She harnessed the energy of the week to come on Shabbat. The whole outcome of the following week depended on her keeping the Shabbat.
Shabbat is the day we recharge the battery that will take us through the week.
