“The Eternal spoke to Moshe saying: ‘command Aharon and his sons,saying: This is the law of the burnt- offering that shall remain all night on the altar, until the morning…”(Vayikra 6:1)
The Altar (Misbeach) alludes to our heart. The heart keeps us alive. In a physical level, if it stops beating life ceases. In a spiritual level, if the heart is not infused with passion our life becomes dull and meaningless.
Our job is to keep that fire going, our enthusiasm for H”S,Torah, and Mitzvahs burning always in our hearts. Even when there is darkness in our lives so much more, we need to keep the fire burning through the night until morning when the Redemption comes.
