” The doors of the heart always have to be open. To let those who do good to us enter and those who don’t leave”.
Today we count the second day of the Omer, “Gevura Shebe Chesed” “Boundaries within Kindness”.
Pure Chesed can be dangerous. Too much giving can be bad for the giver and the recipient. Giving without limits can cripple a person. Also when we are surrounded by toxic people we have to set boundaries so we won’t be hurt. A recipient serves as a vessel for kindness, Gevura finds the recipient for that Chesed.
“If I am not for myself, who will be for me? When I am for myself, what am I?”( Pirket Avot 1:14)
