So many priceless lessons to be learned from Parasha Toldos.
“Yitzchak loved Eisav but Rivkah loved Jacob.”
As we already know Eisav was a bully, selfish, evil guy. How could Yitzchak who was such a saintly person love him. The sages explain that Yitzchak could see Eisav’s potential. He knew that he could become an amazing human being. Even so more than his Holy brother Jacob. This is why he wanted to give him the blessing. But Rivkah knew that her son Eisav didn’t want the spiritual world, he only desired the material world and it would’ve been catastrophic to give him the blessing.
When educating our children we have to be in tune with their qualities and faults. Many parents concentrate in fixing their children’s flaws and this is all they see. Instead focus on their good qualities and help them harness them. Everyone has inherent good in them. Sadly, Eisav didn’t want to change he wanted to continue a life of impurity and degeneration. Women have the quality of Bina (understanding), since Rivkah understood she tricked Yitzchak into giving the blessing to Jacob.
