Shavuah Tov!!!!
Today we begin the week living with the Parasha “Chayei Sarah”, “The Life of Sarah”.
The interesting thing is that it is referring to how Sarah’s life ended after she learned that Her son Isaac was going to be sacrificed. So why is the Parasha called “The life of Sarah” if it’s talking about Sarah’s death?
The answer is that when a person lives a full life, when that person has been able to leave a trademark of his accomplishments, even after that person dies he continues to live through those that she/he had an impact on. Three thousand five hundred years after Sarah’s death, Jewish women all over the world continue to follow on her footsteps by lighting Shabbat Candles, keeping kosher homes and family purity.
If we look closer to those who have left us most likely you will see that you continue their legacies of kindness and good qualities. So let’s live a life worth living, let’s be busy creating beautiful memories for those around us and in that way we will never be forgotten.
