Shavuah Tov!!! Wishing everyone a week full of light and open and revealed miracles!Tonight, the 25th of Kislev, we begin celebrating the Holiday of Chanukah, the festival that grew out of a serious crisis that threatened to plunge the Jewish people into complete spiritual darkness. When the Greeks tried to contaminate all the oil in the Beit HaMikdash so the Menorah couldn’t be illuminated. The visible symbol of the light of Torah and Mitzvahs. It took Judah and the Maccabees (a few against the many) with a lot of self sacrifice to fight the war of light against darkness, which not only dispersed the darkness but intensified the light of Judaism even more than before. This is reflected in the lights of the Chanukah Menorah in which every day we add more light. If today we light one candle, tomorrow we light two and so on till we light all 8 candles on the eighth day. This is a reminder, that us too should everyday intensify our learning of Torah and our deeds of love and kindness.
