On Rosh Chodesh Elul through Hoshana Rabba, we recite psalm 27 every day in the morning and afternoon.
This month is the month in which we try getting close to H”S by showing Him our love and appreciation. Psalm 27 talks about how the House of H”S has no physical bounds. It is a state of mind whose doors are open to anyone who sincerely wishes to dwell there. One needs only to seek H”S closeness and resolve to mold ones life according to His will. To those who dwell within, the House of H”S provides the sole island of constancy and comfort amid life’s swirling waters of pain and disappointment. Those who dwell elsewhere can know no security.
Make an effort to recite this psalm till Hoshana Rabba every day, seek to be close to G-d. Just let Him know that you want to be.
