Shavuah Tov!!! Wishing everyone a blessed week!
This weeks Parashah “Vayechi” (And he lived), begins with Yaakov telling his sons to gather together so he can bless them before he passes away.
What is life? The Torah teaches us: “You who are connected to G-d,are alive today”(Devarim 4:4);true life means to be connected to G-d.
“And Yaakov called his sons, and he said, gather together and I will tell you what will befall you in the End of Days.”(Bereshit 49:1)
What Yaakov was saying is “gather together,” BE UNITED, have “Achdus”. Only when we are connected to H”S and we understand that life is like a big carpet that on one side it looks like chaos but when we turn it around we only see beauty we will understand the importance of every stitch and thread that makes the carpet.
Yaakov asked for unity and the deep love that comes from unity. Where there is love, there can be forgiveness.
Today this is a crucial issue. There is so much divisiveness in every area of Jewish life, but what we forget to realize is that there are 70 ways to serve H”S and each way makes the carpet more beautiful. H”S created diversity so there could be unity. When we appreciate what the other brings to the table and how he makes our life richer by adding to the equation then this will foster Achdus, which will bring love, and that love ultimately will bring forgiveness which will lead to redemption.
