Shavuah Tov! Wishing everyone a blessed week!
The biggest tragedy of passing from this world is that the soul has no body to fulfill Torah and Mitzvahs. In the next world there are no poor, sick or needy people you can help. There is no tzedakah to give and no food to bless. All these opportunities are part of this world. Each of this opportunities elevates us and takes us higher. When a person passes on he will arrive to where his Torah and deeds of love and kindness take them. He can’t elevate himself anymore. This is why the day of a persons passing, otherwise known as his “Yurtzeid” is so important for the soul. When the children or loved ones make sure to do Kaddish, give a Kiddush (meal with words of Torah), give extra tzedakah for the departed soul, the children or loved ones become an extension of him/her and everything they do help the soul have an alya (an assent) in the spiritual world.
