Shavuah Tov!!! Wishing everyone a blessed week.
This week we continue in the footsteps of our forefather Abraham and his kind deeds.
In Bereshit 18:2 it says:”And Abraham lifted up his eyes and he saw and behold three men were standing near him and he saw and he ran to greet them from the entrance of his tent.”
From verse 2 until verse 8 the Torah tells in great detail every specific act of Abraham in his hospitality towards these three guests that came to him. “He lifted up his eyes,” “and he saw,” “and he ran to greet them,” etc… seven verses describe Abraham’s kindness. The Torah is conveying to us that when we do an act of kindness every detail is important and becomes part of the act.
Rabbi Yeruchem Levovitz describes this with an analogy. When a person inherits a house, he will not elaborate on every detail of the house, but if a person builds a house every nook and cranny of the house is relevant to him. Each aspect of that house is very dear to him. The more effort he put into building it, the more he will talk about it.
In the same way, when we are helping someone and the mitzvah is dear to us we will put all the effort into it, investing time and resources to build up the person, organization, or endeavor we are putting our heart into. Every detail matters!!! When you work and you are conscious about the goodness you can bring from your earnings then the job will become more meaningful and appreciated by you. Feel the joy of growth in even the smallest act of kindness you do.
