Shavuah Tov! Wishing ev …

Shavuah Tov! Wishing everyone a blessed, peaceful, and productive week.
This weeks Parasha “Mishpatim”(civil and criminal laws) tell society what is right and not right according to interaction between people with people.
So the Parasha begins “And these are the laws…”(Shemot 21:1), which Rashi comments, “These are also from Sinai,” indicating that even though they are evident, logical, rational to a human mind they nevertheless should be observed not because of their intellectual credibility but because they were given by G-d and it is His commandments, in which case He made to be understood. Rashi comments,”Laws recorded in the Torah, that if they had not been given,it would have been appropriate to institute them in any case.”
This laws are not only self evident for the JEWISH people but also to all HUMANITY.
One of this laws is that if someone damages another person, he must pay for the doctors bills, as the Torah states:”…and he shall be healed.”(Shemot 21:19)
From this verse the Talmud derives the principle that a doctor is allowed to heal.
He does not have a right to despair about a person being healed. Even though a doctor might see from his past experience, scientific studies, and statistics what will be the most probable outcome for that patient, he has no right to tell the patient what will be. Ultimately everything is in H”S hands and He has the final say in a persons recovery. We have seen too many times that doctors give a terrible diagnosis and then we see that the person is healed completely and lives a full long life.
If this is true regarding medical problems, so much more when it comes to situations pertaining to people’s behavior and emotions. While we can never be certain that a person will change for the better, we can never be sure and should never loose hope on that person. As long as there is life, there is always hope for improvement.
