Shavuah Tov! Wishing everyone a blessed and peaceful week.
The biggest blessing a person can ever have is the blessing of SHALOM “Peace”.
Jewish people greet each other saying “Shalom Aleichem”-peace unto you- and responding “Aleichem Shalom”-unto you peace-.
“The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory, explains that when two people who are spiritually connected to G-d through their souls, greet each other with PEACE. G-d’s name- they bring G-dliness into our physical world with their words.
A blessing of peace-peace throughout the world and in ones personal life- is one of the greatest blessings one can give and receive and therefore we bless each other with this.”
The one who is asking says “peace onto you.” Peace is mentioned first, because the first person knows that he wants the peace and is asking the other to agree. The responder says “unto you (plural) peace,” for he is the one to actually create peace and unity in the plural- between the two of them.

On a personal note “Shalom”-peace- is the true wellbeing of a person. To attain it we have to ask for it and live it. This is the blessing the Kohanim give the congregation, on Shabbat we bring Peace between us and the world and every Mitzvah we make and the study of Torah bring peace to the world. In a nutshell strive for peace in everything you do and everyone you meat and in that way H”S will give you the blessing of Shalom.
