In this week’s Parasha “Yitro” who was the priest of Midian,the father in law of Moses, and one of the biggest idol worshippers of the time, heard about the miracles G-d had made for the Jewish people and decided to go and meet up with Moses and convert.
Rashi cites the Talmud (Zevachim 116a): What did Yitro hear that made him come and join the Jewish people? The miracle of the crossing of the Red Sea and the war with Amalek.
So many others also heard of these miracles, nevertheless Yitro decided to change his life.
Everyone experiences “Aha” moments in which we get inspired, the difference between a great person and an ordinary person is that the great person takes this moments and acts on them and spurs change.
When H”S sends us an inspirational moment in our lives we should take it immediately and get into action because as fast as it comes it goes. This are gifts He gives us to elicit in us the strength to accomplish our potentials, but the work has to come from us so it can become eternal.
