Shavuah Tov!!! Wishing everyone a blessed and beautiful week.
This week we read Parashah “Eikev” (if you follow).
Verse (Devarim 7:17-18) reads: “If you will say in your heart, these Nations are more numerous than we, how can I conquer them. Do not fear them, remember what the almighty, your G-d, did to pharaoh and all of Egypt.”
Bitachon (trust in G-d) eliminates worry.
What is worry? Worry means that you are afraid that in the future there will be a situation that you will not be able to cope with.
The antidote to worry is to remember how G-d has helped you in similar situations in the past, remembering will help you build the trust in Him.
When you remember how you worried before about a certain hardship, but somehow you managed to pull through, look for the blessing in disguise and then you will see the hand of G-d.
There was a couple that needed to pay for the wedding of their daughter, that year they were financially tight and were a little worried of how they would pull through. Suddenly the husband got a tax return from three years ago. There had been a mistake and they had realized three years later. The sum was the exact sum they needed for their expenses.
If you look at the blessing in disguise, H”S had made them make a mistake and pay more three years before, that money had been on hold for three years (and they didn’t know about it)so when the time came they could have it. If they wouldn’t of made the mistake, or the IRS would of returned it earlier they wouldn’t of had the money when they needed it.
When we begin looking at life in this way, worries are not necessary, they are just a making of the Yetzer Hara (evil inclination) to rob you of your peace of mind and joy of the moment.
