Shavuah Tov! Wishing everyone a blessed and beautiful week.
In this week’s Torah portion “Pekudei” (“The appointment of”), refers of how Moses, following G-d’s command, appointed the people to do different tasks in the construction of the Tabernacle. He appointed treasurers to collect and organize the raw materials that the people donated for the construction, he appointed artisans to fashion the Tabernacle and appointed the Levites to be in charge of erect, dismantle, transport and guard the Mishkan.
The Torah is teaching us that we all have distinct capacities, every person has something to give and although each one had a specific task they were all working for a whole in unity building G-d’s house down in this world.
How is this relevant for us today? When there is no Temple? Well, this world is G-d’s garden, by us taking care of it and everything it contains, meaning taking care of our children, spouses, parents, friends, community, employees or employers, nature and everything else that surrounds us with our unique capacity then we are all working as a whole for the same purpose, which is to build a dwelling place for H”S in this realm, which is the purpose of creation.
