Shavuah Tov! Today is the last day of the year 5778.
When we usher in Rosh Hashana, just before sun set, we light candles and we say a blessing: “Blessed are You, O G-d of the Universe, who has sanctified us with Your commandments and commanded us to light the flame of the Day of Remembering.”
It is a day of remembering why we are in this world, the shofar is like an alarm clock that wake us up from our slumber and the universe from its cosmic sleep. We should feel refreshed and ready and exited to begin a new year.
We ask G-d to REMEMBER us too for life, we remind Him that it is Him who wants us here and that our mission is not yet completed.
The energy that sustained the year departs and a complete, new and higher energy enters the world to sustain it for the year to come.
After a whole month of preparing for the year ahead with “the King in the field” tonight we enter the Palace with open hearts to G-d in prayer.
I want to wish all of you Shana Tova Umetuka, a good and sweet year and a Gmar Chatima Tova, May you be inscribed in the book of life with good health, abundance both material and spiritual, joy, peace of mind, peace in your homes, may you grow in Torah and Mitzvahs and have complete faith and trust in G-d.
May your needs be met and all opportunities for growth taken.
