Shavuah Tov! This weeks Torah Portion “Vayishlach” which means “He sent”, refers to the concept of “shlichus” sending an emissary to do a holy job.
In the bigger picture we are all “shluchim” of the All Mighty. He placed our souls into our bodies in order for us to carry out a mission here on earth. To perform the Mitzvahs of the Torah and to influence our surroundings positively so the physical world becomes a “home” for G-d.
In this Parasha Jacob is ready to be reunited with his brother Eisav, but before this encounter he sends angels (Shluchim)ahead of his encounter to let his brother know that he is coming to him and that he needs nothing from him and he is coming in Peace.
