Tonight we light the seventh light of Chanukah.
In Torah Or, a Chassidic discourse about Chanukah we are taught that we all have a hidden and natural love for H”S. This love is in our DNA and was given to us as a gift. When Aharon HaKohen used to light the Menorah in the Tabernacle he was able to accomplish to bring out this hidden love within the souls of the Jewish people. It is for this reason that he was called the High Priest.
Nevertheless, this hidden love is merely a revelation from Above and it is the job of each one of us to arouse his own personal love of Hashem. This love comes from contemplating H”S wonders and His goodness towards us, we need also to build a relationship with H”S through prayer, study of Torah, and fulfillment of His mitzvots.
