We have less than 15 days for Pesach and by know we should all start preparing for the time of our freedom.
Like everything worthy in this life there needs to be preparation, if not we won’t be able to achieve what needs to be achieved.
One thing to keep in mind is that cleaning our home from chametz is not spring cleaning, or dust cleaning. What we have to concentrate on right know, both in a physical level and a spiritual level, is to get rid of CHAMETZ!!! In a physical level chametz is any food made of flour which grows (bread, pasta, cakes, cookies, etc…) it’s good to check every room, pockets, handbags, or any other place where you can store chametz.
The kitchen needs to be cleaned very well, ovens koshered, stovetop koshered, etc.. (check with your local Rabbi or look in Chabad.org.
It’s praiseworthy to be stringent on Passover. In fact, the Arizal states “One who is careful about the most minuscule amount of chametz on Pesach is guaranteed not to sin the entire year.”
Chametz in a spiritual sense is “EGO,” the root of all sins.
When we are meticulous of getting rid of our physical chametz we are also getting rid of the spiritual chametz.
By doing this we are preparing to be free from our limitations and self inflicted wounds.
And most important, don’t forget to pray to H”S to help you have a kosher and very happy Pesach!
